Rebecca L. Weinberg founded Weinberg Law Group in December 2006, after she had become very disenchanted with the law while working for other law firms. Ms. Weinberg decided that, unlike most attorneys had to do, she did not want to choose between her ethical beliefs and her salary level. Ms. Weinberg's dream of a different type of law firm was born.
Ms. Weinberg is a tough and innovative attorney. She attended the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida, where she completed a double major in Spanish and Criminology. She graduated cum laude from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
For more than five years, Ms. Weinberg has concentrated on complex business, real estate and workers' compensation issues. In May 2005, she became the youngest woman ever to argue before the Illinois Supreme Court in Alvarado v. Industrial Commission (216 Ill.2d 547, 837 N.E.2d 909, 297 Ill.Dec. 458 (2005)). She regularly handles cases before a wide variety of tribunals, including the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission, the Chicago Commission on Human Relations, the Illinois Department of Human Relations, the Illinois Department of Professional Regulation, the Illinois Department of Employment Security, Circuit Courts in Cook, DuPage, Henry, Lake, McHenry, Will, Kane and McLean Counties, and Appelllate Courts in the First, Second, Third and Fourth Districts.
Ms. Weinberg is a member of the Workers' Compensation Lawyers Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, the National Association for Women Business Owners, and the Lakeview Chamber of Commerce. She speaks, reads and writes Spanish.
